As the site of the 1924 Winter Olympics, you can be certain that people have been travelling from Geneva to Chamonix for decades for the best skiing that the area has to offer. Located near the Aiguilles Rouges, or 'red peaks', it is one of the oldest and best known ski resorts in France. Near the town sits the famous outline of Mont Blanc, although it doesn't actually fall within the borders of the commune.
